Alan Hoang, Gillian Watt and their daughter Fiona opened Lemongrass in May 2012. Alan, who came to the United States from Vietnam when he was 15, has lived in Maine for over 35 years, settling first in Augusta and then later moving to Topsham. Gillian, who was born in Scotland and grew up in the Midwest, moved to Maine in 1988 and met Alan in 1991. For years Alan has had a dream of opening a Vietnamese Restaurant in Brunswick and sharing many of his family recipes with the community. Many of our recipes are from Alan’s mom, Na, and his older sister, Cuong, who has operated a Vietnamese Restaurant in Sherbrooke, Quebec for 35 years.
